"Even though I didn’t play sports in high school, I had my fair share of participating in middle school and rec sports. When I got to high school, I realized that I enjoyed the strategy of sports rather than playing a sport. I was the student manager for the basketball team and the football team and was able to shadow my high school athletic director pretty much every day. I loved his job and realized that was what I wanted to do when I graduated.
There's a lot more to it than just coaching a game. I'm responsible for transportation, officials, and security for games as well as helping the coaches with the seasonal schedule. There are multiple budgets that have to be managed, venues that have to be booked, equipment that has to be maintained. That is just some of what I do, but this is really what I love. It's hard work, but I get to do my dream job every day and support these athletes to reach their own goals."
